Sign a PDF

Draw your signature, drop your PDF, choose where it goes, everything stays on your device.

How Sign a PDF works

Draw your handwritten signature on a canvas and stamp it visually onto one or more pages of a PDF. This is a quick way to add a visible signature image to forms, letters, or internal documents.

Important: this tool creates a visual (image-based) signature overlay. It is NOT a cryptographic or certificate-based electronic signature and does not carry legal weight equivalent to a qualified digital signature. For legally binding e-signatures, use a dedicated signing platform.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Your PDF is parsed and rewritten by pdf-lib in your browser tab, the document is loaded into memory on your own device, your signature drawing (captured on a canvas as a PNG) is embedded and placed on the chosen pages there, and the new PDF is serialised in memory and offered as a local download. Nothing reaches Sunasty or any third party. Open your browser's DevTools, go to the Network tab and watch: no request carries your file.

Is this a legally binding digital signature?

No. This tool stamps a hand-drawn image onto the PDF, it is a visual mark, not a cryptographic e-signature tied to a certificate. It does not comply with eIDAS, ESIGN, or equivalent standards. For legally binding signatures, use a qualified electronic signature provider.

Can I reuse my signature across multiple pages or documents?

Yes. Once drawn, your signature can be placed on any page of the current document. You can also save the signature image locally and reload it for future sessions.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once the page has loaded. Because the processing happens on your device, you can disconnect from the network and the tool keeps working. This is the clearest proof that your data never leaves your machine.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is completely free and requires no sign-up. There are no watermarks, no daily limits and no tracking cookies needed to use the tool.
